Hybrid Racing

Online retailer for performance racing parts for gearheads and car hobbyists

The Approach

We joined the Hybrid Racing team specifically to take their Black Friday efforts to the next level. After evaluating their previous and existing efforts and email templates, we worked in tandem with them to develop a strategy and execute it over the course of the campaign.

We studied what they did well in the previous years' campaign and expanded on it - giving their email templates a professional overhaul in custom HTML for a much better UX particularly for viewing and engagement on mobile devices. We also took on copywriting for the Hybrid Team, freeing them up to better handle Black Friday operations.

The Results

Black Friday was a resounding success, driving 33% more revenue than the previous years' campaign. In addition, taking on the email operations for the Hybrid Team freed them up to fulfill all orders from the weekend in less than 2 weeks, which was a significant improvement over the previous year where they were still fulfilling Black Friday orders into January of the next year.

Hard Core Waterfowl

Online retailer for waterfowl hunting equipment and apparel

The Approach

We joined the Hard Core Waterfowl team to overhaul their email marketing program in October and transition more of the business into a DTC marketing strategy and move away from an 'always on sale' email marketing approach.

We worked with the team to develop and execute a revised email and content strategy, resetting subscriber expectations amidst a series of operations changes to the company, and turning over their subscriber list.

The Results

Black Friday was a big boost after a deep investment in the change of business strategy and tech from the months prior, driving over $50,000 in sales directly attributed to email despite having just cleaned and re-structured their email program.

During the aggressive campaign, we not only used targeted segmentation to avoid subscriber fatigue, but also were able to make agile and ad-hoc changes to messaging - as the campaign was so successful that the fulfillment team needed communication to subscribers about add-on gift changes and shipment expectations.

Modern Picnic

Direct to consumer handbag and lunchbox brand targeting professional women

The Approach

We joined the Modern Picnic team in the fall to help take email to the next level and incorporate a true communication channel with their subscribers. With new products, collaborations, and other communication mixed in, we researched and implemented subject line and timing best practices,
segmented email to strategically cross-sell to past customers, and temporarily reconfigured the standarized flows and welcome series to be positioned as an "early BF access" funnel until the website promoted the sale.

The Results

With our strategy in place, Black Friday sales for Modern Picnic were doubled from the previous year - with over 30% of revenue driven directly from email marketing.
